Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

  • "Customer" or "You" refers to the person or entity requesting our services
  • "Site" refers to the location where services are to be performed
  • "Contract" refers to the agreement formed when we accept your booking or service request

3. Service Provision

3.1 Quotations

  • All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated
  • Quotations are based on information provided by the customer and site inspection where applicable
  • Final costs may vary if additional work or materials are required
  • We reserve the right to revise quotations if site conditions differ from initial assessments

3.2 Booking and Appointments

  • Appointments must be booked through our online calendar system or by contacting us directly
  • We will confirm all appointments via email or phone
  • Appointment times are approximate and subject to traffic and previous job completion
  • We will notify you if we anticipate any significant delays

3.3 Access to Site

  • You must provide safe and reasonable access to the site for our engineers
  • You are responsible for securing pets and removing fragile items from work areas
  • If access is not available at the scheduled time, a call-out charge may apply

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Prices

  • All prices are in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT unless otherwise stated
  • Prices are subject to change without notice
  • Emergency call-out services may incur additional charges

4.2 Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of work unless alternative arrangements are agreed in writing
  • We accept cash, bank transfer, and major credit/debit cards
  • For larger projects, a deposit of up to 50% may be required before work commences
  • Outstanding invoices will incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate after 30 days

4.3 Additional Costs

If additional work is identified during service provision, we will inform you and obtain approval before proceeding. Additional costs may include:

  • Unexpected repairs or replacements required
  • Additional materials not included in original quote
  • Work required to meet current building regulations

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

5.1 Customer Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment will not incur charges
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a cancellation fee
  • No-shows will be charged the full call-out fee

5.2 Our Right to Cancel

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to emergencies, weather conditions, engineer illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. We will provide as much notice as possible.

6. Warranties and Guarantees

6.1 Workmanship Guarantee

  • We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from completion date
  • This guarantee covers defects arising from our work but not wear and tear or damage
  • Manufacturer warranties on parts and equipment are separate and subject to manufacturer terms

6.2 Gas Safety and Compliance

  • All gas work is performed by Gas Safe registered engineers
  • All electrical work is performed by NICEIC certified electricians
  • We comply with all current UK building regulations and safety standards
  • Certificates will be provided where required by law

6.3 Exclusions

Our guarantee does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorized modifications
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Failure to maintain systems as recommended
  • Damage from external factors (flooding, fire, etc.)

7. Liability and Insurance

7.1 Public Liability Insurance

We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance covering our work. Insurance certificates are available on request.

7.2 Limitation of Liability

  • Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided
  • We are not liable for consequential losses or damages
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence

7.3 Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring adequate insurance coverage for your property
  • Reporting any issues or defects promptly
  • Following maintenance recommendations provided

8. Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer (not a business customer), you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including:

  • Services must be performed with reasonable care and skill
  • Services must be provided within a reasonable time if not agreed in advance
  • The right to cancel certain contracts within 14 days (cooling-off period)

Note: The cooling-off period does not apply if you have requested urgent work to be started immediately.

9. Emergency Services

  • Emergency call-outs are subject to engineer availability
  • Emergency rates apply outside normal business hours
  • In case of gas leak, call the Gas Emergency Services (0800 111 999) before contacting us
  • For electrical emergencies posing immediate danger, contact emergency services first

10. Data Protection and Privacy

We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to such processing. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of GASTECH PLUMBING LTD and protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.

12. Complaints Procedure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil disturbance, government action, fire, flood, or industrial disputes.

14. Amendments

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
